Cycling for Softies offer holidays where the cycling takes a back seat. The focus of these tours is on luxury, good times, great food and a fair amount of wine. They will arrange all sorts of tours for you and your gang, the point being that it's a cycling holiday not an expedition.

Intro
Off the back of our success with Ski Solutions, The Active Travel Group asked us to rebuild the site for their much-loved cycling brand Cycling for Softies. The site already had a loyal user base but the design and structure needed a rethink, it also needed to be able to take bookings.
The website
The design of the site needed a complete refresh - so we introduced a limited colour palette and paired this with some bold calls to action. User journeys were considered throughout and the site the aim being to focus visitors towards booking a holiday, whilst giving them a decent overview of the portfolio of tours available. Integrating blogs and reviews to each tour validates the user experience further.
The development
The team at Cycling for Softies were already familiar with Wordpress. We made it easy for them by sticking to what they knew but integrated our booking engine to provide all tour and booking functionality. This was the ideal blend for them, an easy to use CMS coupled with the power of a fully customisable booking engine.
We adapted our booking engine that currently powers a host of popular travel sites. Being originally built to manage holiday properties rather than tours, it required a fair bit of additional development to adapt it, swapping out the concept of villas and properties and replacing them with tours and experiences. A significant benefit of having our own system, is that it enables us to modify and scale it to meet exact client requirements.
The result
We launched the site on time and stuck to the budget. What's more they're pleased with it and so it seems are their bunch of happy travellers! The site links up all of their tours and experiences and the streamlined user journeys ensure it all make sense. Check it out for yourself.
